Ohayo!

just decided to finally use my all time art pseudonym – Teribi for this blog.

Babai!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND

well, what’s with the hearts?

right now, i’ve been dabbling with watercolors… and i realized that it’s the medium that suits me best. I don’t know but i feel relaxed and happy while painting or illustrating using watercolors than with ink. But of course, ink was first my medium during my childhood’s doodling years… If you’ve seen my recent artworks lately, they are illustrated using watercolors. You know, traditional art… because, as much as I’d like to draw using a tablet right now, unfortunately, (with laughs) err… i don’t have money to buy one, because as a mom… it’s just not in my priority list, as much as i’d like it to be. Since, watercolor pads, watercolor paints and paint brushes are more abundant at home (thanks to my husband who’s a self-taught traditional artist… like more of as a hobby or for former submissions in our university’s newspaper publication where we used to be senior artists and writers as well…)… I find solace in watercolors.

And speaking of my childhood doodling years, as much as I try to make my drawings, realistic, like my husband’s (see zhenfen.deviantart.com)… and as required to me before by my former bosses at work ( I used to work as an artist for 2 clothing companies)… my style really shows. I can’t change my “manga-style” illustration. I dunno, maybe it’s the kind of style I grew up doing, or the kind of style I got used to as a child, or maybe the first kind of style i got initiated with (thanks to my anime-fandom before…during those late 90s to early 2000s)….In short, it’s just my style.

I believe, it’s time for me to really embrace and go back to my roots —- Shoujo-style illustration (familar with Shoujo manga?—Sailormoon, Hana Yori dango, etc.)

All that Grunge

Image

Ever since I saw Quinn Fabray turned into a Punk last year (the first episodes of Glee Season 3 as we all know it), it awakened again a part of me on who I was during my teen years — Resident Punk/Rocker/Goth/Grunge girl, in short, I saw myself in her when I was still in school when she don that style last year (which she immediately discarded after some on the later episodes).

But even way before I watched that episode in Glee, last year (around July)…when the rainy season is at it’s full blast, as much as I’d like to buy rain boots, I don’t want to end up looking like a “Metro Aide”… So when I was checking out the new arrivals then in a local thrift shop along Times, Las Pinas… Unbelievably, I saw this Doc Martens-inspired boots that goes above our ankles — enough to cover a part of your lower legs, to protect yourself from getting wet and dirty from the rain! But I didn’t immediately bought it, I waited for sometime to really decide if I need it, but as the days passed by, it continued to bug me, and probably as what you’ve all have guessed, I ended up REALLY buying it.

And I so much love it!

And then I developed a  preference for stuff that gives out that grunge vibe, accessories like these

Also, I am proud to say that I buy my accessories (as long as it’s unique) on places where I can buy it cheaper 🙂 I don’t care about brands or labels, I care if it looks unique and if looks great on me 🙂

Since 2008, I’ve been more drawn into everything and anything vintage and classic. Not only the styles in clothing, but also with bags. I don’t know but, i developed a soft spot for brown leather, so when I saw this brown leather messenger bag from Asian Vogue, I fell for it instantly …Thus becoming part of my daily “uniform”.
The Brown Leather Bug must have bitten , because aside from bags, I developed a soft spot for brown leather even in shoes!

As for my hair, my only accessory, aside from my faux-fur black scrunchie and those black pantali is a thin headband with pearls, i just wear this during my lazy hair days (well, everyday is a lazy hair day for me)

Now, let’s go to my Beauty Loot! (stuff found inside my everyday make-up or “kikay” kit)

Oh, I super love matte lipsticks, and i love how it looks compliments the natural color of my lips. Reddish-Nude but THAT Red.

I love red lips, but when i saw this inside of those make-up packages you see in Fashion 21 Cosmetics counter, I immediately bought it, and i love the red tint it gives to your lips right after you put lipstick (and even without lipstick!)

With red lips, i would love to coordinate this accessory that Chris (my other half) makes (and gave to me)
